This amazing Spandau Maxim Model 08/15 machine gun is being sold on consignment. It dates to 1917 and has all matching serial numbers except the fusee cover and block. The only part missing is the steam port cover, but it comes with a German belt/link drum, drum attach fixture, bi-pod, and original 250rd cloth belt. New water tanks and hoses can be purchased from IMA-USA, or can be found used on Gunbroker from time-to-time.
Overall in excellent working condition. It was fired by the current owner a few months ago and he indicated it ran wonderfully. A video is available upon request. The water jacket is leak-free, and the gun cycles very well. The fusee cover indicator is a little sticky, but that is typical for these type guns.
The exterior has some very light corrosion in a few spots, but otherwise the bluing is in very good condition. Additionally, it also shows what looks to be original German-pattern camouflage paint. It would be the first and only original-painted 08/15 we have seen and so should command a high price for this unique feature. The wood shoulder stock and wood grips look to be crack-free, and show some signs of use but also beautiful wood grain
